BRANDONAPOLIS 2011 - SATURDAY 22nd October at COVENTRY STADIUM 6.pm

All roads lead to Coventry Stadium for the big joint Spedeworth / Startrax Oval spectacular!
For 2 litre Bangers it's the 2011 'Brandonapolis' [ driver entries are welcome and should be made direct to Nico @ 01252 322920 ] and a strong Midlands' invasion is expected for the last National Banger session of the season on the expansive Bradon Bowl.

For Stock Car fans Coventry looks set to deliver another massive grid of pinto powered F2 Stock cars which have delivered enthralling wheel to wheel full contact action throught the season and this is their Midlands finale so should add that extra edge.

Complimenting the programme are the insanely fast UK Modifieds - open wheeler cars durect from the USA all combining to provide yet another evenings superb oval action in the West Midlands.

Duncan and Margaret Farrington Memorial Trophy - BriSCA F2 Coventry Stadium 22nd October

The Duncan and Margaret Farrington Memorial Trophy is dedicated to the memory of two people who enjoyed a lifetime involvement in Stock Car Racing, and in particular at their local Coventry Stadium.

Duncan and Margaret were present for the first ever Stock Car meeting at the then Brandon Stadium in 1954 and attended every year there after, including a breif spell of racing for Duncan between 1973 and 1975 in F1's. Whilst spectating and racing nationwide for over 50 years, it is Coventry Stadium that always held a special place in Duncan and Margarets affections and it is therefore appropriate that the memorial trophy should be competed for here on the Brandon Shaleway, where the Formula 2's will race for this Trophy tonight and it is hoped, for many years to come.

Congratulations to Mark Simpson last years winner of the trophy on his success becoming F2 World Final Champion. Here's hoping the trophy is a good omen for this years winner.

Unfortunately we have had to adjust the 2012 fixtures slightly. The Speedweekend planned for August will be moved and announced in the very near future. This is because our foreign racers have been faced with difficulties booking ferries due to the Olympic Games. More details will be announced soon.

Meeting Report courtesy of the BSCDA - 1st October 2011
Heat one saw an early race tussle between 111 Mike Williamson and 505 Rob Tunnah but they both spun out leaving 215 Geoff Nickolls ahead. Geoff also got spun which left 98 Les Spencer in the lead. Les took the win with 105 Chris Bonner in second and Geoff recovering for third. 267 Graeme Robson led away heat two and stayed in front until lap ten when 321 Ed Neachell went by. Next time around 16 Matt Newson moved ahead, where he stayed until the flag with Ed taking second. There was a good tussle between 4 Dan Johnson and 84 Tom Harris behind them. Mike Williamson was the leader in heat two until past half way. 515 Frankie Wainman had been making good progress from the rear of the field and he took the lead with five to run with 390 Stuart Smith close behind. Frankie went on to victory with 2 Paul Harrison snatching second from Stuart on the last bend. Graeme Robson scored a career first win in the consolation, never putting a wheel wrong as he led from flag to flag. 192 Luke Dennis ran second for a long time but 21 Mark Gilbank went second in the closing stages.
Graeme Robson led the early laps of the final with 223 Garry Townsend in pursuit. 97 Murray Harrison was on a charge though, he passed Garry on lap eight and Graeme two laps later. 335 Mark Woodhull was in second but could make no impression on the 97 car so Murray romped away to win with Dan Johnson taking second with two to run and Mark in third. The last race of the evening was another victory for Frankie Wainman. Rob Tunnah and 35 Neil Shenton both had spells in the lead until Frankie took over. Neil finished in second spot.
