COVENTRY STADIUMS ` BIG CRASH TO RAISE CASH'

Coventry International Motorspeedway is pleased to announce it's first staging of a great high octane fun night out for BBC1's CHILDREN IN NEED on Friday 18th November from 6.30.pm with proceeds going to the charity.
Oval Racers will be crashing to `raise' cash in this spectacular one off event at Coventry Stadium with well over 100 racers from all parts of the UK competing for the Charity.
The evening features 3 classes of cars - First up are the classic `Demons of Demolition' - all action Banger Racing who will be producing high speed thrills and metal bending carnage - and donating to Children in Need for the privilige of a few bruises the day after and we end with a Demolition Derby!
Linking with the Kids theme, we have the `real' Whizz Kids in National Ministox. Full contact Mini bodied 1000cc `stock cars' piloted by girls and boys from age 10 to 16 years although watching them race you'd be amazed to realise their tender years! This formula provides the stars of the future for oval racing and will be really getting into the spirit.
Adding brute Horsepower are the `V8 Stock Cars' - Big cars, big horsepower generally means `big action!
Organisers Startrax in conjunction with Avtar Sandhu, Coventry Stadium owner, said `This is our first year and we want the event to build into a great annual fund raising event. We are delighted at the response from drivers and race teams with anything from bodywaxing to auctions and raffles going on. We just want everyone to enjoy a great night out, the stadium offers excellent facilities and visitors can get up close with the drivers and cars and it all adds up to a fantastic family night out. We've slashed the admission prices to try and attract as many people as we can - and therefore raise as much as we can -to just £6 Adults, £3 Children, under 5's Free and a family of four for just £15. We really hope everyone comes along and gets into the spirit and as an oval racing community, raise a substantial amount of money for this worthy cause'

Full updates will appear week commencing 14th November on www.startrax.info and further details may be obtained from Steve on 01484 844088 / 07952 050198 or e-mail steven@startrax.info

This event is designed as a fun event to benefit BBC 1 Children In Need with proceeds going to the Charity.

The evening features 1600cc Bangers - Privvy Cars [ strictly non contact only and not suitable for Banger drivers! ] - V8 Hot Stox and BriSCA Ministox.
1600cc Bangers will all be £10 to race to raise funds AND STRICTLY 60 ARE BEING ACCEPTED - PLEASE ONLY BOOK IN IF YOU ARE DEFINATELY INTENDING TO DO IT and we would hope drivers enter into the spirit of the night. We have received quite a few entries already.
Admission prices have been reduced to a token £6 Adults, £3 Children and £15 for a family ticket to encourage a big audience - We considered admission by donation however at similar events this `tailed off ' and the objective is to RAISE MONEY. You may donate more if you wish! We are starting work on local media to try and get some `free' or reduced price advertising.
We are seeking `race sponsors' at £50 a race which includes 2 passes, advert in programme and trophy presentation.
We would be grateful of a trophy sponsor, anything to reduce costs to raise as much as possible for Children in Need and we `hope' to be in a position to send someone across to the BBC in Brum before the end of the show.

It's a quality night's racing with BriSCA Ministox and V8 Hot Stox

Gates for competitors will open at 3.30.pm and Ministox will be first up at 6.30.pm - we have an 11.pm curfew but would like to finish by 10.30.pm. 1600CC BANGERS will be split - providing we have 60 cars - into 2 opening heats and then 2 Allcomers and DD and again we are on the scrounge for a sponsor for a RESPLENDANT ANNUAL `CHILDREN IN NEED CHAMPION' Trophy.

Any fun and ideas on how to collectively make this event a success from both a fun and fund raising point of view most welcome! This is a team effort.
We do also have individual luxury sponsor boxes available if anyone would like to indulge - packages would equate to £20.00pp including buffet. Each executive box holds 80.

Press Release - 5th November Season Finale ~ Firework Spectacular!!

The final event of the year for the BriSCA FI stockcars at MCM Coventry Stadium, Brandon on Saturday 5th November (6.30pm) is looking to be a definite date for the diary.

Already driver bookings are strong and with three major championships on the agenda an action packed meeting is guaranteed.

The Teng Tools sponsored World of Shale and the Stock Car Magazine Grand National Championship titles are up for grabs and so too will the Whites and Yellows Finale. This particular series has proved exceptionally popular at Coventry and all season we have been delighted with the number of lower graders opening events in fine style. We have seen some epic drives from Geoff Nickolls this season and he takes pole position in the Championship come the 5th November. This experienced racer has been in the thick of the action all season even taking the chequered flag in reverse in September. Geoff has to be a top contender for the Championship although with a field of around thirty cars it won’t be an easy task.

Crewe based Neil Shenton hasn’t taken to the top spot of the podium this year at Coventry he will be determined to end his season on a high. Local racer and fan favourite Nigel Harrhy has made quite an impact in his first year of BriSCA FI racing. He has without doubt learnt the hard way this season but his rapid improvement has to be admired and what an end to his debut year if he could take the chequered on his home surface.

2011 Whites and Yellows race winners Luke Dennis, Les Spencer and Neil Scriven will all be determined to fight their way through to the front and take home the major race win and the spoils from the main sponsors Teng Tools and Lucas Oils who have supported this Championship all season long. Atherstone based Les Spencer has chosen to opt out of the prestigious Grand National Championship in a bid to take the Whites and Yellows title so he means business and will be one to watch starting from row two.

This event will be supported by the popular V8 Stock Cars and the ORCi Ministox who will be challenging one another for the Coventry Masters title. And of course, with this being Bonfire night we have the spectacular firework display to really end the season with a bang.

Why not enjoy all this action from the restaurant and feast on an ‘all you can eat’ Indian buffet for just £9.95 and £5.95 for children 3-10. Bookings are now being taken, simply call 02476 542 395.

Please note the early start time of 6.30p.m. and remember children under 11 are absolutely free so the whole family can enjoy fireworks along with some of the finest shale racing.

Will scores be settled, will we see new Champions be crowned? One thing is for sure, the season is going to end in fine style on the Brandon shale for 2011.
